When submitting your manuscript to Research Africa Publications, please follow the instructions outlined below:

Reviewer Recommendations and Decision Making:

  • The duration of the review process may vary depending on factors such as the submission's quality and reviewer availability.
  • You can track the progress of your paper by logging into the submission site.

Peer Review Process:

  • Our peer reviewers adhere to the guidelines set by the E Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
  • Once the review is completed, reviewers provide one of the following recommendations to the editor:

    1. Accept as is (rare):

      Occasionally, the reviewer may recommend accepting the paper without any changes if it is exceptionally strong and meets all the publication criteria.

    2. Recommend revisions:

      The most common recommendation is to request revisions, which can be major or minor. Major revisions involve significant changes to the content or methodology, while minor revisions address smaller issues. The editor will provide guidance to the author regarding the necessary modifications.

    3. Reject the paper:

      If the reviewer suggests that the paper is not suitable for publication in its current form, it may be rejected. However, the final decision ultimately rests with the editor.

    Revisions by the Author:

    • If your paper is provisionally accepted, it will be sent back to you for major or minor revisions.
    • You are expected to make the necessary revisions and address all comments from the editor and reviewers.
    • The comments can be accessed on the corresponding author portal.
    • The process of revisions may be repeated until the editor can make an informed decision on whether to accept the paper.
    • It is important to note that even after multiple rounds of revision, the paper may still be rejected if the comments and suggestions are not adequately addressed.

    Accepted Paper:

    • If your paper has been accepted, congratulations! You will receive confirmation of acceptance once the paper has been published online.
    • Please ensure that you follow these instructions throughout the manuscript submission, review, and revision processes.
